Bet on safety with SOTEXPRO
As a buyer you must know, for perfect safety in the establishments servicing the public (ERP), that the fire regulation applies in the construction industry. In those institutions, curtains are considered as construction materials. Therefore, the law imposes M1 classified products according to the NF P 92-507 standard (fire non-propagation criteria). In France, the European standard for textiles is unfounded (Euroclasses).
As a supplier, Sotexpro must inform you about the fire regulation. To that end, you will find a notice on our website to help you understand information provided on that official document.
Here is essential information to know:
- Minutes must be issued by an accredited laboratory.
- If the product includes a range of colours, it must stipulate “various colours”. If the minutes only specifies “white colour”, then white is the only colour which is tested and responds to standards requirements.
- The appearing fabric on the minutes must be on behalf of a French company. Minutes presented by a company based abroad (employee representative committee included) is not valid. According to the article L212-1 of the French Consumer Code, the importer must have its new products tested, before bringing it on the market.
